Both turntables will be full Linn Klimax specification, including:

• Karousel bearing
• Keel subchassis
• Ekos SE tonearm
• Ekstatik moving coil cartridge

The “only” difference is the plinth.

Bedrok™ was first seen in LP12-50, the limited edition Sondek designed in collaboration with Jony Ive’s LoveFrom to celebrate Linn’s 50th anniversary. Its has now been adapted to become Linn’s new reference, Klimax level plinth, retro-fittable to any LP12.

In an LP12, the plinth affects everything. Everything is mounted to it, and every component depends on the combination of its stability, acoustic isolation and resonance characteristics. It is the bedrock (if you’ll pardon the pun) of your deck. With more than double the density of a standard LP12 plinth, Bedrok™ is uniformly solid, with ultra-low resonance and so extracts the absolute maximum performance from every single part of your LP12; every component gets a new lease of life. It’s like upgrading your motor, bearing, subchassis, arm cable, tonearm, cartridge, and of course plinth, all at once! Which means more pace, tighter bass, greater insight and enjoyment of your music; more boogie.

Bedrock™ plinth is formed from orthogonal layers of beech, placed under extreme pressure and heat to create an entirely new, solid and massive material. This highly engineered, ultra-dense wood has negligible resonance and provides a superior isolating housing for the LP12 turntable’s mechanism. The plinth comes in a single, distinctive finish; its constituent natural beechwood layers are enhanced and protected with a simple coat of oil. It is supplied with a brand new top plate, identical to the standard top plate but for a pair of subtle curves which allow it to seamlessly integrated with the plinth’s upper lip.
